Welcome! I’m April and RAWHyde Furnishings was born out of my love for all things antique and vintage. Many of the furnishings in the home I share with my husband and two furbabies (feline siblings Samson and Delilah) came from antique stores or estate sales. I just love quality, unique furniture that has a story! Click here to read more about where my passion began.

Somewhere along the way I decided to take a stab at transforming a couple of old chairs I found with chalk paint. I researched the various types of paint available (there are so many!) and learned a ton about the process and different methods of distressing or aging painted furniture. Putting my research to deed, I went for it and now I am hooked! After a few casual projects for other people and seeing how pleased they were with my transformations, I made the leap and left my marketing job of almost 15 years to pursue this new flame to an old passion that would also allow me to spend more time at home with a flexible schedule.

I love working on projects I find or that people bring to me with a desire to give them new life. There is ALWAYS something new to learn, and I hope to share with you my discoveries through successes and mistakes here in this blog. I’ll also share other thoughts and inspirations that reflect my love for all things unique and vintage. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you will come back to visit often!
